Celebration underway at Carowinds as Thunder Road’s closing nears

The popular Carowinds wooden rollar coaster, Thunder Road, will give its last ride July 26 at 10 p.m.
Carowinds is teaming up with coaster fans to say "ThanksThunderRoad" by offering riders special Thunder Road memorabilia to celebrate the historic coaster. The park announced its plan to close the iconic coaster in May. This comes after Carowinds fans created an online petition to keep the park from retiring the iconic coaster.
